Eldership
In the bible, the focal point of all church leadership is the elders. An elder is one of a plurality of biblically qualified people who jointly concern themselves with the spiritual welfare of the total church. It is an appointed position by the other church elders after prayer and after meeting biblical qualifications. References: Acts 14:21-23, Titus 1:5-9, Numbers 27:18-20

Deacons
The Greek word 'diakonos' gives the picture of a household servant who does the daily tasks for the family's benefit. (Mark 10:42-43, 1 Corinthians 3:5, Colossians 1:7, 4:7, 1 Timothy 3:8, 12.) Scripturally, the role of a deacon is one of service, and faithfulness to this area of responsibility is one of the qualifications for becoming an elder. Each deacon/ness shall meet the biblical qualifications for deacon/ness as described in Titus 2:3-5.
